For the last couple of weeks, I was feeling low. I could not sleep well and could not find true peace. Even the simple things began to bother me.
I looked around and everyone seemed to be having fun. Seems they all had what they needed financially. They were enjoying life with their mates and families. While I sat alone and pitied myself.
In this season Covid-19 was experienced all over the world. There were a lot of losses and a lot of pain. Yet it seemed that everyone else was able to keep the faith and move along. While for me, it was struggle after struggle.
One morning I went to pray but I could not rest well in the Lord. I felt pain and anxiety and I felt like running and screaming. I said “Lord, what is this?”
I then heard the Lord say “The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. (Lam 3:22-23 NLT)”
I just fell in tears and thanked the Lord. I said “Lord please forgive me for not trusting in you. For not waiting on you.” I was immediately at peace. This brought me to remember that no matter what I go through, always listen for the Lord.
When it gets hard for you like me, say this prayer:
Father, your child is listening. I will lie and wait to hear your voice. I will seek your guidance and wisdom day and night. I will not grow weary in doing so. For I know that your mercies begin afresh each morning. Thank you, Lord, for causing this to be so. In Jesus name, Amen!
